Chimney repairs in Cork
The chimney is the most exposed thing on the roof and the single most common source of damp on an upstairs ceiling. We repair, repoint and rebuild stacks across Cork, and renew the leadwork that actually keeps the water out.

Why chimneys leak
Water gets into a stack in three places: through open mortar joints, down through cracked flaunching around the pots, and — most often — under failed lead where the stack meets the roof. Cement fillets in place of proper lead are the usual culprit in Cork; they crack the first hard winter and then feed water straight into the roof.
Repair, cap or remove
If the fireplace is still in use, the stack needs to stay weathertight and ventilated, so repointing and new leadwork is the answer. If the chimney is redundant, capping it with a vented cap stops the water without trapping moisture inside. If it is in poor condition and unused, taking it down and making the roof good is often the cheapest long-term option. We will tell you honestly which of the three your chimney is.
