Signs your roof needs attention

A roof rarely fails overnight. The early signs are easy to miss from the ground, which is why our inspection starts with a proper look at the roof itself rather than a guess from the driveway.

• A damp patch or tide mark on an upstairs ceiling, usually near a chimney or a valley
• Slates in the gutter, on the lawn, or a visible gap in a course from the road
• Mortar crumbling out of the ridge, or a ridge tile sitting proud of the line
• Daylight through the roof when you stand in the attic with the light off
• Moss build-up holding water against the slates and pushing it back up under them

How we price a repair

We look at the roof, photograph what we find and give you a written price before anything starts. If there is a cheaper way to solve the problem, we say so — a single flashing repair is a better outcome for you than a job you did not need, and it is how we end up back on the same road a year later for a neighbour.
